At Shearwater Resort, adventure begins where the Great Bear Rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by towering mountains, ancient forests, and some of the richest waters on the coast, every experience offers an opportunity to connect with the wild beauty of Heiltsuk Territory.
Lodging
We invite you to experience the warmth of our hospitality, renowned on BC’s central coast. Our rustic and cozy guest rooms are in a lodge right on the oceanfront and our restaurant offers traditional west coast fare with an Indigenous flair.
We offer a full selection of services and amenities including laundry, an onsite gym, a spa with a massage room and an infrared sauna, continental breakfast, retail shopping, and more. We also have rental homes for families or larger parties if you require more than one bed.
Marina
Our full service Marina boasts one of the largest one-stop shops on the central coast. We have a full service fuel dock, a shipyard with a travel lift and heavy duty mechanis, 1270′ of dock space for long and short term moorage, dry dock storage, and more.
Our rates are competitive and based on the linear length of your vessel. If you need power, we’ll be happy to turn a breaker on for you. We offer 15-, 30-, and 50- amp service from multiple points on the dock, as well as potable and non-potable water hookups.

Dining
Dine at Shearwater Resort in one of our two restaurant locations. During the summer months we have Hṃ́zílás Restaurant, located in the K̓álílṃ Lodge on the ocean front. In Heiltsuk language Hṃ́zílás means ‘Restaurant’ or ‘Cafe’. This restaurant offers a more refined menu, a quieter dining experience, and spectacular views of the water and the fish dock.
Náǧílás du Hṃgíláilas, also known as Fishermen’s Bar & Grill at Shearwater Resort is a welcoming, dockside pub that perfectly complements the rugged beauty of Denny Island. Situated just steps from the marina it serves as a relaxed hub for guests and locals alike. Fishermen’s caters to both dine‑in and take‑out. In Heiltsuk language, Náǧílás du Hṃgíláilas means Bar and place of cooking.
