Our New Executive Chef at the

Fishermen’s Bar & Grill

Brandon’s love for food started at a very young age. If he was not at his grandparent’s farm in Cedar, BC, he was roaming around his dad’s grocery store. As Brandon got older and his love for food grew, he started working in the butcher shop.

After completing high school, Brandon made the move to Calgary where he started working in the Calgary restaurant scene. Brandon was given the opportunity to work under many great chefs and completed his Chefs apprenticeship at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2006.

After 17 years in Calgary and Canmore, Brandon made the move home to Vancouver Island where he now lives in Ucluelet with his wife who is a school teacher and their three dogs.

After spending many years studying and working under great leadership, Brandon always wanted to keep striving for the top and pursuing his passion for culinary excellence.

Since finding his way home to BC, Brandon has been the Executive Chef of two world class resorts, Mike Wiegele Heli-skiing in Blue River BC & Good Hope Cannery in River’s Inlet BC. Brandon has also worked at some of the top restaurants and resorts all over Alberta.

When it comes to the art of cookery, Chef Thompson likes to focus on sea to plate cuisine using as much from the sea as possible and focusing on the bounty of Vancouver island and British Columbia.
