Bear Watching Adventure
6 day / 5 night trip on board Shearwater's 48' charter yacht 'Pacific Lure'Arriving in Bella Bella, guests board the Shearwater flagship Pacific Lure and meet their captain and crew and then set out on a journey into the beautiful wild of the Great Bear Rainforest in the Central Coast of British Columbia.
The captain will set course for the first leg of your groups 120 mile (192kms) round trip - seeking out bears (Grizzly, Black, & Kermode Bear) and marine wildlife (Whales, Dolphins, Sea Lions, and Seals) along the way. While out on the water, why not try your hand at a little fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Crab, or even Prawns!
Depending on the weather, the first leg could be 60 miles to the Surf Inlet area of the southern end of Princess Royal Island, and if weather isn’t quite conducive to a long initial journey (7.5hrs) then the captain will opt to break up the initial leg over a couple of days. But not to fret, there are lots of activities to experience along the way! There is no shortage of fun and excitement on this adventure.
Once in the Surf Inlet area, the captain will drop anchor and utilize the yachts tender to do shore excursions and try to catch the elusive Kermode Bear - as well as Grizzly & Black Bears and allow guests to get closer to the rich flora and fauna of the Central Coast.
If the weather is conducive to make it to Surf Inlet on the first day then the yacht will remain in the Surf Inlet area for 3-4 days of exploring the river systems and area in search of the elusive Spirit Bear while taking in all of the amazing wildlife the Great Bear Rainforest has to offer.
Cost for this trip, exclusive of airfare is $4625 per person, based on minimum 4 guests. Airfare from Vancouver can be arranged by Shearwater or your own travel agent.
